Why Bison?
Bison is very high in protein and minerals. Bison has 40% more
protein than beef so you can eat 1/3 less volume and still come away satisfied.
Bison meat is very low in fat and has less calories and cholesterol than
chicken, fish, ostrich, pork and beef. Bison meat is high in vitamins B12 and B6
and has a very low source of sodium. It also has a high source of potassium and
iron, along with high selenium and conjugated linoleic acid, which are both
shown to help prevent cancer.
The American Heart Association recommends bison meat for a heart healthy diet
due to its low fat and cholesterol content. In addition to having fewer
calories, less fat and less cholesterol, there are no growth hormones, steroids,
or sub-therapeutic antibiotics. Bison are both environmentally friendly and
people friendly. The taste of bison does not taste like wild game meats.
Instead, bison has the same great taste of the finest quality beef that you
remember from your childhood.
